TEMPTATION

CHAPTER_02_SLOKA_60

यततो ह्यपि कौन्तेय पुरुषस्य विपश्चित: |
इन्द्रियाणि प्रमाथीनि हरन्ति प्रसभं मन: || 60||

yatato hyapi kaunteya puruṣhasya vipaśhchitaḥ
indriyāṇi pramāthīni haranti prasabhaṁ manaḥ

TRANSLATION

The senses are very powerful and unstable, O son of Kunti, these senses can forcibly enrich to intolerance a man even if he following the self-control.

EXPLANATION

These senses have a nature of unstoppable wild animals, they are like aggressive and fully tethering natured. So it's very challenging to those who wants to keep them under control. So those who endeavour for the spiritual progress should stay far away from the lust to make your senses in your control. Otherwise they can be disturb even the good hearted saints.

CHAPTER_02_SLOKA_61

तानि सर्वाणि संयम्य युक्त आसीत मत्पर: |
वशे हि यस्येन्द्रियाणि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता || 61||

tāni sarvāṇi sanyamya yukta āsīta mat-paraḥ
vaśhe hi yasyendriyāṇi tasya prajñā pratiṣhṭhitā

TRANSLATION

The people who keeps their senses under control and engage their mind in me, they were settled in complete knowledge.

EXPLANATION

Here the lord Shree Krishna well documented about the sensory control. In order to master the senses we have to be engaged with the god all the time with true knowledge, and the mind should be free from material activity. we should subdue our senses by devotion and our intellect is attuned to spirituality to keep our senses under control, otherwise it is not possible to overcome the sensation any other way.

CHAPTER_02_SLOKA_70

आपूर्यमाणमचलप्रतिष्ठं
समुद्रमाप: प्रविशन्ति यद्वत् |
तद्वत्कामा यं प्रविशन्ति सर्वे
स शान्तिमाप्नोति न कामकामी || 70||

āpūryamāṇam achala-pratiṣhṭhaṁ
samudram āpaḥ praviśhanti yadvat
tadvat kāmā yaṁ praviśhanti sarve
sa śhāntim āpnoti na kāma-kāmī

TRANSLATION

An ocean how remains calmly even plenty of rivers approaching in it, the same way many of the material desires may coming around, still who remains undisturbed will gain peace. but those who tries to fulfil their material desires will never get to the sage of bliss.

EXPLANATION

Here the lord Shree Krishna explained the transcendent meditation experience the objects of the senses. Just like the ocean is remains same form even though countless rivers enter into it, or even do not but the ocean is un effected and there will be no difference in it. In same way the enlightened saint uses the worldly objects for his need or if not he will remain peaceful and stable. That kind of yogi only gain the true peace.

CHAPTER_07_SLOKA_14

दैवी ह्येषा गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया |
मामेव ये प्रपद्यन्ते मायामेतां तरन्ति ते || 14||

daivī hyeṣhā guṇa-mayī mama māyā duratyayā
mām eva ye prapadyante māyām etāṁ taranti te

TRANSLATION

Maya is my celestial energy, and it's incorporated with the three ways of nature, it is difficult to conquer. The only way to attain this is to surrender unto me.

EXPLANATION

Here the the lord Shree Krishna saying that it's very difficult to overcome the Maya. If you seduced the Maya it means you won on the supreme god, but here nobody can win the god, but if you surrender yourself with heart and intellect into me then I'll let you overcome this Maya. The Maya is the material energy, while it is obedient to god, it always troubles you, to get out of this Maya we have to get closer to the god with our own attempts. This is the only way to get out of it.
